Do Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) suck tone?

No. Low volume manufacturing benefits less from using PCBs, but in a high volume manufacturing environment, PCBs can provide exact copies of the best proven layout and can be done well. Good PCBs are thicker, use through-plated holes for better contact and less corrosion potential, and are identical and identically processed (solder, solder temperature, soldering time,…) for consistency and quality.

Fat One Amps are manufactured in low volume, are in some case vintage replicas, so Point to Point (PTP) wiring is the way to go. PCBs are not used, instead we use fiber board with eyelets in most Fat One Replicas, G10 board with turrets in some Fat One Replicas and G10 board with eyelets in Fat One Originals.
